American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) NU Chapter
President,Vice President,Workshop Coordinator (Founder), Student Activities Coordinator (2015-2018)
ASME serves as the center in between students, faculty and industry for the mechanical engineering department. I am proud of being one of the driving factors that cemented this organization as a beacon for students to challenge their engineering skills and as a community where any engineers was welcomed.
Management of a 10-12 engineering team composed of different department’s that heavily interacted with major industries and different university departments.
Expanded the club to provide technical workshops in which, with the aid of other major university clubs, I directed programs to teach students:
Soldering, Laser Cutting, and various other physical workshops.
Solid-works (FEA, Surfacing), GD&T and Matlab.
Product Development Methodologies.
Redesigned the hierarchy and roles of the organization, revamped old programs and created the new Outreach and Workshop departments
ADDDITIVE Learning:
Technical Director, Founder
As my days as president of ASME ended, a few colleagues and I started a new university program to tackle the lack of presence the mechanical engineering department within the local STEM education community. ADDDITIVE Learning was created with one goal:
Create an impact in the lowest scoring and highest dropout rate high-school’s in Boston by connecting Northeastern engineers with students who want to take on the challenge of a STEM career.
Founded a northeastern program and created the foundations for a successful: Social Media and Design Team, Engineering Team and Operations Team.
Set in motion the responsibilities and strategies for a team of 12 driven engineering and social enterprise students on a weekly basis.
Lead and managed various experienced engineers in the creation of curriculum for an 8 week program with the aid and input from BPS teachers.
Provided an introduction to engineering design, manufacturing technologies, CAD and STEM professions to highs-school kids as both a teacher and a personal mentor.
